Bernard and how the magic happens.

Meet Bernard. He also appeared quite unexpectedly one evening. That is how most of the amazing things happen...at least in my case. Sometimes people ask me if I know exactly what I am going to draw before putting pencil on paper and my answer is - 'no'. Well, nine out of ten no, because there are some projects which demand full concentration and precise theme, like this one, for example:

Swinka dla Ewy
I knew what to draw because my friend specifically asked for a cute pig for his girlfriend who loves them and, therefore, no problem there. But with any other drawings of my own, I don't think about it until I start drawing. Usually, I'd stare at the blank paper for a moment (2 minutes, maybe 5) and try to 'see' any patterns or shapes. Once I find something interesting, I start drawing and till the very end I have no idea what will come out of it. My drawings keep taking shape, change and develop during the whole process and I feel that's when the magic happens(; It can be a beetle, or a creature similar to a beetle but with long pink legs, or a funny smile, or something completely different all together which I had no idea was hiding in my imagination. However, what I'm definitely certain of is, that after a finished drawing I do get a feeling of full certainty that the drawing was there all the time, right in front of me, and I was just tracing the lines to make it visible for others.
